Hammers are crossing kings

West Ham United are the Barclays Premier League's top crossers, according to independent statistics.

The Hammers have put in more successful crosses than any other top-flight club this season, topping the table in both crosses made from open play and the percentage that successfully find a team-mate.

It should therefore come as no surprise that West Ham winger Matt Jarvis is the Barclays Premier League crossing king, having unleashed more total and successful crosses from open play than any other player.

In total, Sam Allardyce's side have put in 633 crosses from open play - 39 more than second-place Newcastle United - of which 24.49 per cent successfully find another player in claret and blue.

As for Jarvis, the No7 has sent in 171 crosses, of which 42 have been successful - putting him ahead of second-place Wigan Athletic winger Jean Beasejour in both categories.

Right-back Guy Demel has also impressed from wide areas. The attack-minded Ivorian has completed 33.33 per cent  - or exactly one-third - of the crosses he has put in from open play.

The statistics are even more impressive when you consider that West Ham have played just 30 Barclays Premier League matches this term - one fewer than 12 other clubs.
