West Ham United Community Sports Trust joined forces with the Disney Channel recently to host a prestigious football tournament for local children.

Schools from across Essex and east London took part in the West Ham Community Sports Trust (CST) Premier League Under-11 Mixed Tournament, which was exclusively filmed by the Disney Channel for the Disney Goalmouth series.

The event saw over 160 young players take part in a number of matches against each other at the West Ham CST base in Beckton. The winning school was Ripple Primary School in Barking, who will now go on to represent the club at the Premier League National Schools competition in May.

Much praise was given of the tournament by all the schools, with comments made on how West Ham CST created an "excellent platform" for the pupils to showcase their talents in a well organised tournament.

Youngsters from Ripple Primary School will attend the national level of the competition which is held at Liverpool Football Club.

Bryan Glover, West Ham CST Football Development Officer said: "The tournament was competitive with all teams showing a great attitude and commitment.

"The weather while the event was taking place was not great, it was windy and raining, but all youngsters gave their all.

"I would like to thank the Disney Channel for choosing us once again to be filmed as part of their Disney Goalmouth series. The winners from Ripple Primary showed excellent team work and ability and I am looking forward to seeing them represent the club in the national competition in May."
