West Ham United Ladies opened their 2012/13 pre-season schedule with a comprehensive 7-0 win over Enfield Town on Sunday.

Julia Setford's side returned to action at Chadwell Heath and produced a fluent display against their South East Combination League opponents.

The match was split into four sessions and played on an artificial surface due to the recent heavy rain, but the conditions did nothing to slow the Hammers.

Newcomer Sam Rowland opened the scoring ten minutes in when she swept home Kerrie Stimson's centre and two quick goals from Becky Merritt soon followed as the hosts took control. Shortly into the second session the Hammers had a fourth as Jo Wosahlo buried a low shot from 25 yards in off the post.

The third session saw Jess Barling's corner clawed onto the post by the Enfield keeper and bounce into the goal via an Enfield player before close-range finishes from Rowland and April Bowers rounded off the scoring in the final session and wrapped up a pleasing opening workout for the Hammers.

The Ladies return to action this Sunday when FA Women's Premier League National Division side Watford are the visitors for what should be a testing pre-season fixture.

West Ham open their FA Women's Premier League Southern Division campaign with a trip to Millwall Lionesses on Sunday 19 August.
