West Ham United Community Sports Trust are running another series of courses in the Easter holidays.

At West Ham, the club believe if children are given a challenge they enjoy it gives them a real motivation to succeed. Therefore, the 2011 holiday programme features a new range of themed courses specifically designed to improve the quality of learning for each player taking part.

Health and wellbeing

Children begin the day with a full warm-up and stretch to teach them the importance of health and wellbeing to football. They will also receive an informative work booklet to complete throughout the course which encourages players to develop a good knowledge of the supporting fitness and nutrition needed for football.

Player Development Courses (ages 6 to 12)

The Player Development courses follow the key principles of training players the West Ham United way. Classes concentrate on improving players' overall agility and well-being, rather than being purely based on running and aerobic fitness. Mornings focus on acquiring new skills and improving technical ability, whilst afternoons give players the chance to apply these in a variety of structured games and matches.

Advanced Skills Academy Course (ages 13 to 15)

For those with a passion to hone their abilities at a higher level, the club are offering new advanced courses for players aged 13 to 15. Participants will be encouraged to develop a mastery of the ball, essential for those looking to progress to professional or semi-professional football. Sessions will be based on the core syllabus delivered at the world-famous West Ham United Academy, and encourage players to perform with the speed and accuracy required at the highest level.

Children have the option of attending between one and four days of coaching, with prices starting at only £8 for a half-day, or £12.50 for a full-day course.
